CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER E. (ERIC) BERGERON, CD
CWO Eric Bergeron was born and raised in Jonquière, Québec. He joined the Regular Force on 12 October 1987, completing Basic Training in Saint-Jean Québec then TQ3 Artillery in Shilo Manitoba. Upon completion of TQ3, then Gnr Bergeron was posted to Gagetown NB with W Battery. CWO Bergeron held various positions within the unit, including Gun Det member, command post signaler/technician, driver, Artillery Simulator Operator (IFT), Observation Technician. CWO Bergeron was deployed in support of Ice Storm in both Québec and Ontario in 1998. Shortly upon return from deployment, he was promoted to the rank of MBdr. CWO Bergeron was then employed within W Battery as a Gun Det Commander, Recce Sergeant then finally as the LAV/OP Cell NCO. CWO Bergeron was the first Gunner to attend the 25mm Advanced Instructor in Gunnery under the Armoured School. Upon completion of the Gunnery Course, he received the promotion of Sergeant where he instructed many courses such as; Observation Post Technician, LAV Gunnery and LAV OPV. Once attaining the rank of Warrant Officer, he was sent to the RCAS Instructor cadre as an OP AIG where he instructed and programmed courses such as; LAV Gunnery, LAV OPV, Forward Observation Officer and Fire Support Coordination Center Course.
CWO Bergeron retired from the Regular Force in 2008 and started working as the Indirect Fire Trainer Operator for the RCAS as a civilian. CWO Bergeron became a Reservist in 2009 where he joined 3 Field Regiment the Loyal Company as a Sergeant. He was used primarily as a Forward Observation Officer. CWO Bergeron was promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer within his first year with the Regiment and became the TSM and Battery Commander’s Technician in Woodstock NB. A few years went by and he was promoted to the rank of Master Warrant Officer taking the reign as 89 Battery Sergeant Major.
CWO Bergeron continued to train with 3 Fd Regt part of 89th Battery Woodstock until he assumed the responsibilities of Regimental Sergeant-Major (RSM) for 3 Field Regiment (The Loyal Company) in May 2020.
In civilian life, CWO Bergeron is still employed as an Indirect Fire Trainer Operator for the RCAS under MEGGITT Enterprise. CWO Bergeron currently resides in Oromocto New Brunswick with his beautiful wife Sheila and they have two beautiful daughters Amber-Lynn (27) and Yasmine (21). CWO Bergeron enjoys competitive sports where he represented the Province and Country as a Softball player both at the National and International Level under military and civilian competitions.
